Gameplay overview

Hornet is faster and more acrobatic than the Knight from Hollow Knight. She fights with her needle, leaps and vaults through combat, uses silk-based abilities, crafts tools from gathered materials, and pursues quests across an interconnected kingdom. Progression combines exploration, movement upgrades, combat techniques, tools, crests, bosses, and routes that open as Hornet gains new abilities. Steel Soul mode becomes an additional challenge after the kingdom has been conquered.

Hornet is captured and taken to Pharloom, a distant kingdom haunted by silk and song. Her journey is an ascent toward the kingdom’s peak, passing through settlements, wild regions, citadels, and dangerous spaces populated by new insects and factions. Because Hornet is an established speaking character with her own history and goals, the story has a different perspective from Hollow Knight’s largely silent protagonist while remaining connected to the same wider universe.
