The game extends beyond the central story through activities, strongholds, boss encounters, pets, mounts, equipment, crafting, housing, and character progression. Post-launch updates have also expanded playable-character systems and repeatable combat content.
Story, setting, or main mode
The story takes place on the continent of Pywel. Kliff and the Greymanes are pulled into a wider conflict after a devastating attack scatters their group, while rival factions and powers struggle across the continent. Pywel ranges from plains and forests to deserts and mountains. The world also contains the Abyss, a mysterious realm tied to later gameplay systems and the expanding roles of characters such as Oongka and Damiane.
The playable lead or central cast includes Kliff. The confirmed setting is Pywel.
