Wuthering Waves
Wuthering Waves is KURO GAMES’ free-to-play open-world action RPG set on Solaris-3 after the catastrophe known as the Lament. Version 3.4, “The Dream Not Dreamed,” is live with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration content, while Xbox Series X|S is scheduled for July 10, 2026. Gameplay overview
Combat is fast and real time. Players build teams of Resonators, switch characters during fights, dodge enemy attacks, trigger Dodge Counters, use Resonance Skills and Liberations, and chain Intro and Outro interactions when Concerto Energy conditions are met. Defeated Tacet Discords can be absorbed as Echoes. Echoes provide stats, Sonata Effects, and active Echo Skills, so character builds combine weapons, Echo sets, Forte mechanics, team rotations, and the timing of swaps or counters.
Story, setting, or main mode
The player awakens as Rover on Solaris-3, a world rebuilding after the Lament. With lost memories and unusual powers, Rover travels with Resonators through regions and factions while confronting Tacet Discords and uncovering the causes behind the world’s disasters. Exploration is a major part of progression. The game supports wall running, climbing, grappling, gliding, Flight in later regions, and the high-mobility Expedition Motorbike introduced in the Version 3 era.
